Day 1. Arrival to Paro - Stay at Paro.

The flight into Paro on our national carrier, Druk Air, is a befitting introduction to the spectacular beauty of our country. In clear weather, magnificent views of the world’s highest peaks, give way to the lush green Paro valley as you land. Day 2. Paro - Thimphu (Day Excursion)

Today after our breakfast in the resort, we will drive to Thimphu and visit to National Memorial Chhorten, Buddha point, Weaving Center, Bhutanese Paper factory. Lunch will be served in one of the restaurant in Thimphu. In the afternoon, we will Visit to Zilukha Nunnery, BBS and stroll around Thimphu town. In the evening we will visit the Thimphu Tashichhoe Dzong. Then drive to Paro and dinner and over night stay at Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary, Paro.

Day 3. Paro Stay

Choose your traveling date like Arrival/Departure date. You also need to choose entry/depart Bhutan via AIR or LAND.

By Air: Druk Air, the national carriers is the only service operator in the kingdom and operates several flights per week from Bangkok (Thailand), Delhi & Kolkata (India) and Kathmandu (Nepal) to Paro (Bhutan). The Paro International Airport is located about an hour and a half drive from Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.

Paro airport is daylight restricted, and the flights are totally dependent on the weather. As a result, sometimes flights are delayed. It is therefore a good idea to keep at least 24 hours of transit time for connecting flights out of Paro. You might also want to consider traveling on a non-restricted ticket so that if you miss a connecting flight, you can be rerouted or seated on the first available carrier.

Sometimes flights into Paro are disrupted because of unfavorable weather conditions. If this occurs, the flight will stop for the night at the transit airport. To be prepared, you may want to carry your essential personal items in your carry-on luggage.

By Land: Phuentsholing, a Bhutanese town in the southwest has road access to India. It is located about 170 km from the Indian domestic airport at Bagdogra, West Bengal. Phuentsholing is about 172 km from Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan and is about 6hours drive distance. And S/

Hot stone bath (Dhotsho) is a traditional bath of Bhutan, where a tradition of heating up stones and then soaking in the water that is in turn heated by the stones. Folk Performing Arts & Music in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan
We have Cultural Program Performing groups, which they will perform like Traditional folk songs, dances and keeps original tunes and dances alive. Moreover, new choreography for some traditional and regional songs is sometimes developed.

The troupe also performs mask dances that have historical and spiritual significance.

Bumthang is often called the cultural and religious center of Bhutan. Nga Lhakhang Festival is a good opportunity to glimpse the unique festival being held in the remote rural village of Bhutan (Nalakhar village). Early in the morning, we will drive our car through farm road to the road at Nalakhar. From the road end, we have to walk about 15mnutes to the festival ground-Nalakhar Temple. On the arrival to Paro International Airport, you will welcome and receive by the Representative of Authentic Bhutan Tours. Today we will do the following sightseeing:

Day 02. Paro – Thimphu

Today we will drive to Thimphu but in the morning we will hike to Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest).

  • Nunnery – where the Bhutanese girls and women pursue the religious studies and goals in their life for the benefit of all the living beings.
  • Folk Heritage museum – you will visit to the 19th century Bhutanese house.

  • We will do Wangditshe hike. The hike will take about 1hour 20 minutes and we can see the Thimphu valley so beautifully.

Day 04. Thimphu – Phobjikha

Today we will be drive to Phobjikha over Dochula pass (3150m) above sea level. The pass is adorned with 108 small stupas. On the clear days, we can see the Eastern Himalayan Mountains, including the highest mountain of Bhutan so impressively. Today we will do following sightseeing:

  • Lunch will be served at Nobding or we will have pack lunch.
  • At Gangtey, we will visit Gangtey Goenpa, the most important temple in Nyingmapa sect.
  • Hike-the Gangtey Natural Trail through the pine forest. The hike will take about 1hour 3ominutes. From this hike we can see the Phobjikha Valley so beautifully.

Day 05. Phobjikha - Bumthang

After our breakfast, we will drive to Bumthang, which is the heart of religion in Bhutan through Tronngsa. We will do following sightseeing on the way:

  • Stop at Chendibji Chorten for picture.

  • Visit the ‘Tower of Trongsa’.

Today we will do sightseeing in Bumthang.

Evening visit to Trachichho Dzong, it is an architectural delight and houses the throne room, and the office of His Majesty the king and the ministries of home affairs and finance. Day 3. Thimphu - Punakha

After our breakfast, we will drive to Punakha/Wangdi. The road climbs steeply through forests of pine, hemlock spruce and rhododendrons. At Dochula Pass (3150m) you will have a breathtaking panoramic view of the Eastern Himalayan Mountain ranges on clear days. The pass is adorned with 108 small stupas and many kinds of prayer flags. Then the road descends through lush forests to the fertile valley of Punakha & Wangdi Phodrang. On reaching Lobesa, we will visit Chhimi Lhakhang, which is located at a hilltop. The temple is known as ‘the temple of fertility’.  Lunch will be served here at Lobesa, one of the restaurants. At Punakha, visit the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan, Punakha Dzong. After this, we will drive till the view point of Khamsum Yule Namgyle Chhorten, passing the beautiful rural landscape. Evening at leisure. Dinner and over night stay at Hotel Punakha

Day 4. Punakha - Gelephu

After breakfast, you will drive to Gelephu, the southernmost district of Bhutan bordering with India. You will stop for lunch on the way. Seven hours journey leads through the sub tropical forests, villages and small townships of Tsirang and Sarbhang before you arrive Gelephu. Walk around the town. Dinner and overnight stay at Gelephu hotel.

Day 5. Gelephu - Gongphu

After the breakfast at hotel, we will take the 150km drive from Gelephu to Gongphu and enjoy the ascent from 280m-1450m. You will pass through Surey village where mandarin and cardamom farming is the main cultivation. From Surey you can also see Jo Dungshing peak on clear days. This peak is the highest in the Black Mountain range. Gongphu is the northern most tip of the Royal Manas Park. The area gets maximum rainfall in the country. This makes the area a thriving sub-tropical ecosystem. This is the haven for wildlife such as langur, tiger, leopard, clouded leopard, samber, and large number of bird species. Overnight in Eco-camp at Gongphu.

Day 6. Gongphu - Panbang

After the breakfast, we will drive to Panbang through forests of mixed broad-leaved forests and thick undergrowth with numerous birds such as barbets, hornbills, bulbuls, doves, woodpecker and cuckoos. The camp is on the way to a village and provides a good view of the area due to being located at a higher alleviation. Overnight in Eco-camp Panbang.

Day 7. Panbang - Royal National Park (Explore the Royal Manas National Park)

After the breakfast, drive to Royal Manas Park and do the Elephant Safari. Cross the river using the boat and do the Elephant Safari. This safari allows for the perfect tour to appreciate the wealth and the beauty of the park. Towards evening drive back to Panbang and dinner and overnight stay at the Panbang Eco Camp.

Day 8. Royal Manas National Park (Enjoy with Rafting)

Morning explores the villages nearby the Eco camp and after the lunch, we will enjoy the River Rafting. Overnight at Eco-camp at Panbang.

Day 9. Explore Royal Manas National Park

Day 10. Panbang - Trongsa

After breakfast, you will drive to Trongsa. As you drive you will notice that the vegetation changes from sub-tropical to broad-leaved evergreen forests. This route has one of the richest forests and has many varieties of trees and orchids and other botanical plants. Check into your hotel on arrival.

Day 11. Trongsa-Gangtey/Phobjikha Valley

In the morning, you’ll visit Trongsa Dzong, the masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture. You will then drive to Gangtey. You will stop at Chendebji Chorten for lunch. After lunch, you will continue driving to Gangtey through dense forests of oak trees and rhododendrons. On taking the diversion from the high-way, and crossing Lawala pass blanketed with dwarf bamboos, you will arrive at Gangtey. From Gangtey, you can see the picturesque Black Mountain range as well as Phobjikha Valley, the winter habitat of the black-necked cranes. Visit Gangtey Goenpa, the only Nyingmapa monastery in western Bhutan. You can spend some time interacting with the monks studying here. The college offers nine-year course in Buddhist studies.

Day 12. Gantyey-Punakha

Today you will hike through Phobjikha valley to explore the nearby villages. The valley is mostly covered with high altitude dwarf bamboo, hiking trails, pine trees and farmhouse with impressive art and wood carving. Any of the houses will be happy to have you walked into their houses for a cup of locally made wine, “ara” or Butter Tea. After lunch, you will drive back to Punakha. On a clear day, you can see views of Juchu Drakye, Kang Bum and other peaks en route. On the way, you will stop at Lobesa to hike through rice paddies up to the Chimi Lhakhang Temple. This temple is dedicated to the great Yogi in the 14th century known as Drukpa Kuenley, or the “Divine Madman,” who is believed to bless women who seek fertility. Check in to hotel on arrival.

Day 13. Punakha-Paro

Today, you will then drive back to Paro. On the way, you will stop at Metshina Village and take a 20-minute walk through the rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang, which is a fertility temple dedicated to the Devine Madman or Lama Drukpa Kuenley. If you wish, receive the blessing from the Lama’s wooden phallus! You will stop at Dochula for lunch. Continue drive to Paro. Check into hotel on arrival.

Day 14. Paro Stay

After the breakfast we will drive till the Ramthangka, where the hike to one of the Bhutan’s most dramatic monuments, the Tiger’s Nest (Taktshang Monaster). We will use pony till the Taktshang cafeteria. From cafeteria, we have to hike up to monastery about 1hr 30minutes. Even from the cafeteria, we can see the spectacular views of this most scared monastery in the Buddhism world. Some of you, if you cannot hike from cafeteria, we can sit and enjoy the view of the monastery, which is perched on the rocks, 900m above the valley floor. Our lunch will be served here at cafeteria. On our way back to hotel, we will visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, it is one of the two most sacred and the oldest temples in Bhutan, built in 7th century by Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo (the 33rd Tibetan king, who is also the manifestation of avoloketeshivara, commonly known to Bhutanese as Chenrize). By Air: Druk Air, the national carriers is the only service operator in the kingdom and operates several flights per week from Bangkok (Thailand), Delhi & Kolkata (India) and Kathmandu (Nepal) to Paro (Bhutan). The Paro International Airport is located about an hour and a half drive from Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.

Paro airport is daylight restricted, and the flights are totally dependent on the weather. As a result, sometimes flights are delayed. It is therefore a good idea to keep at least 24 hours of transit time for connecting flights out of Paro. You might also want to consider traveling on a non-restricted ticket so that if you miss a connecting flight, you can be rerouted or seated on the first available carrier.

Sometimes flights into Paro are disrupted because of unfavorable weather conditions. If this occurs, the flight will stop for the night at the transit airport. To be prepared, you may want to carry your essential personal items in your carry-on luggage.

Folk Performing Arts & Music in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan

The Royal Highlander Festival is held at Laya,Gasa District. It was first introduced on 16th Of October in 2016 to mark the celebration of the birth of HRH the Gyalsey; 400 years of Shabdrung Rimpoche and the Rabjung (60 years cycle) birth year of Guru Rimpoche. The Royal Highlander festival shares the beauty and the wonders of Gasa Dzongkhag through its nature, history and its age-old tradition and culture and the simplicity of the life of the Highlanders with our guests.

During the festival, visitors can witness the traditional offering of Buelwa (Gift offering) with Auley (traditional epic poem/song recitation tradition originated from Zhabdrung Rinpoche days) that begun during Zhabdrung Rinpoche’s reign in showing loyalty and respect by the community of Laya is being offered for dynamic and visionary leadership of our successive monarchs.

Variety of cultural programs will be performed by Layaps. The various competitions on highland animals including the Yaks, horses and Mastiffs will be held and also competition such as traditional songs and dances will be held.

Upon arrive to Paro International Airport, you we will be greeted by our Guide and driver and then transfer to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Lunch will be served at Thimphu. After lunch we will do some sightseeing in Thmphu, like visiting to Memorial Chhorten (It was built in 1974 in the memory of third king late Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, who is regarded as the father of modern Bhutan). Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang). This gigantic statue of Shakyamuni measures in at a height of 51.5 meters, making it one of the largest statues of Buddha in the world). Day 2. Thimphu Stay

After our breakfast at hotel, we will do sightseeing in the Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. We will visit to Post Office and make the personalized stamps. Visit Drupthop Dewachen Nunnery (The Thangtong Dewachen nunnery was founded in 1976 by Rikey Jadrel, who is considered an emanation of Thangtong Gyalpo). Visit Takin Mini-zoo (To see the National Animal of Bhutan, Takin). Lunch will be served at Thimphu town, one of the restaurants. After lunch, we will continue with our tour and we will visit Paper Factory (to see traditional methods to produce the authentic Bhutanese paper known as Deh-sho). Day 3. Thimphu - Punakha

After our breakfast at hotel, we will drive to Punakha over dochula pass (3150m). You will see the stunning view of eastern Himalayan Mounatin Ranges on the clear days. We will stop at the pass for photography and enjoying the fresh air. On reaching Lobesa, we will hike to Chhimi Lhakhang, the temple of fertility. After the hike, we will served the lunch. Then we will drive to Punakha. On reaching Punakha, we will visit to Punakha Dzong. This dzong is the most beautiful dzong in Bhutan and located majestically at the confluence of Pho Chhu (Male River) and Mo Chhu (Female River. Evening at leisure. Day 4. Punakha - Gasa - Koina

Early Morning leave your hotel for our approx. 5 hours drive to Gasa where the road ends, from there start our trek (4 hours) to Koina which, is your destination for tonight. Starting from end of the road, trek for approx. 4 and half hours, the trail first winds with a gradual descend till Koina and then winds up with a gradual climb till your campsite past the small bride (Thongchu zam).
Overnight Camp.

Day 5. Koina - Laya

After breakfast, start trekking to our destination, the beautiful highland village of Laya. The trail winds up gradually and at times with steep climbs till you reach Laya. Early arrival to your camp and enjoy the scenic beauty of the landscape and then you will come across a lot of locals in their typical Laya costumes. Overnight Camp

Day 6. Laya Stay

After breakfast after saying good-bye to our trekking crewmembers, we will drive to Paro. Lunch will be served at Punakha or on the way. Continue the journey to Paro. Dinner and overnight stay at Paro Hotel.

Laya is at an altitude of 3800m and the festival venue at 4000m. It can be fairly cold in October, with daytime temperatures ranging between 1-12 C, and nighttime temperatures dipping below 0 C. Light drizzles and snowfall may be also expected. Afternoons are windy, with an average relative humidity of 48%. The walk to Laya from Gasa can be challenging especially if the weather is wet. Extra war, wind/rain proof clothes and good walking shoes are advised.

We have Cultural Program Performing groups, which they will perform like Traditional folk songs, dances and keeps original tunes and dances alive. Moreover, new choreography for some traditional and regional songs is sometimes developed.

The troupe also performs mask dances that have historical and spiritual significance.

The program will be about 1hr program and the cost will be USD 100/program. Usually we organize this in the evening before your dinner. But any time of the day can be organized.

Tiger’s Nest is most visited spot in Bhutan and it is much awaited by every tourist who visits Bhutan to climb to Tiger’s Nest.

It takes about 2 hrs 30mins up steep climb through the forest of pine, oak and Rhododendron. However you can ride the horse and climb till the Taktshang cafeteria.

The price will be approximately USD 12-15. So we can arrange the horses and let us know.

Druk Wangyel Festival |Dochula Festival |Druk Wangyel Festival Tour

Druk Wangyel Festival takes place every year December 13, at Druk Wangyel Festival ground located at Dochula pass (3150m), which is about 45mins drive from Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Dochula pass is adorned with many kind of prayer flags, 108 small stupas and offers a stunning panoramic view of Eastern Himalayan Mountain ranges including highest Mountain in Bhutan, Gangkar Puensum.

This festival was established in 2011 in commemoration of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and the Armed Forces’ victory over Indian insurgent forces residing in southern Bhutan in 2003.

Dochula Druk Wangyal Tsehchu is a unique festival where you will not see and experience in any other festivals in Bhutan and true exemplifies Bhutanese cultural traditions.

Day 01. Arrive to Bhutan – Trasfer to Punakha/Wangdi.

On arrival to Paro International Airport, you will be receive and greeted by the representative (guide & driver) of Authentic Bhutan Tours – For Your Bhutan Experience!. You will directly drive to Punakha. Lunch will be served at Dochula Café. After lunch continue your journey to Punakha and visit the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan, Punakha Dzong. Evening at leisure. Dinner and over night stay at Punakha/Wangdi Hotel. Zangtopelri or Pema Karpo hotel or similar standard hotel.

Day 02. Punakha/Wangdi – Thimphu

After an early breakfast in the hotel, we will drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. On the way, we will hike to Chhimi Lhakhang, the temple of fertility. Continue our journey to Thimphu. Lunch will be served at Thimphu. After lunch we will visit to Post Office to buy Bhutanese stamps and to make personalized Stamps and then Mmeorial Chhorten, Weaving Center, Motithang mini zoo, to see the national animal of Bhutan, Takin and Zilukha Nunnery. Evening visit to Bhutanese Farm House for dinner and hot stone bath. Over night stay at hotel Thimphu. Peaceful Resort or similar standard.
We can also organize over night stay at Farm House also, if our guests are interested.

Day 03. Thimphu – Dochula (Dochula Festival)

After our breakfast, we will drive to Dochula, Druk Wangyel Festibval ground to witness Druk Wangyel Festival. Lunch we can take hot picnic lunch or can be served at Dochula Café. After lunch continue with the festival and in the evening visit Thimphu Tashichho Dzong.
Dinner and over night stay at Thimphu Hotel. Peaceful Resort or similar standard.

Day 04. Thimphu – Paro

After breakfast, drive to Paro and hike to Paro Taktshang (Tiger’s Nest). Lunch will be served at Taktshang Café’. On our way back to Paro town, we will visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in Bhutan. Evening stroll around Paro town for your last shopping in Bhutan.

Day 05. Paro – Paro International Airport

1. When and how to visit Bhutan?

Choose your traveling date like Arrival/Departure date. You also need to choose entry/depart Bhutan via AIR or LAND.

By Air: Druk Air, the national carriers is the only service operator in the kingdom and operates several flights per week from Bangkok (Thailand), Delhi & Kolkata (India) and Kathmandu (Nepal) to Paro (Bhutan). The Paro International Airport is located about an hour and a half drive from Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.

Paro airport is daylight restricted, and the flights are totally dependent on the weather. As a result, sometimes flights are delayed. It is therefore a good idea to keep at least 24 hours of transit time for connecting flights out of Paro. You might also want to consider traveling on a non-restricted ticket so that if you miss a connecting flight, you can be rerouted or seated on the first available carrier.

Sometimes flights into Paro are disrupted because of unfavorable weather conditions. If this occurs, the flight will stop for the night at the transit airport. To be prepared, you may want to carry your essential personal items in your carry-on luggage.

By Land: Phuentsholing, a Bhutanese town in the southwest has road access to India. It is located about 170 km from the Indian domestic airport at Bagdogra, West Bengal. Phuentsholing is about 172 km from Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan and is about 6hours drive distance. And S/

After confirming your reservation, we need the scanned copy of member’s passport.

2. The passport should have their validity more than 6months from the date of your travel.

3. For all travelers flying via India to/from the kingdom of Bhutan, to have the Indian Visa prior to their departure from their country.

We will send you the flight ticket copy and Visa Clearance Copy prior to your departure to Bhutan via email. You need to print out and carry along with you.

NOTE:

For most tours the booking must be completed 8 weeks in advance, but during the festivals booking must be completed at least 12 weeks in advance. Especially during the festivals, it can be very difficult to get the accommodation and flight seats without advance bookings, as it is a peak season for the tourist visiting Bhutan.

Hot stone bath (Dhotsho) is a traditional bath of Bhutan, where a tradition of heating up stones and then soaking in the water that is in turn heated by the stones. This is also a curative method and is used throughout the country We Bhutanese belief that this bath has so much of medicinal benefits. Some diseases are curable-like joint pains, hypertension, stomach disorder, arthritis and many other minor diseases. Especially for the old age, where we have lots of body pains, joints pains helps a lot by this Hot Stone Bath (Dhotsho).

I think, the minerals in the rocks have certain chemicals, which can cure certain disease of our body. Hot stone bath has no side effects. It is in its pure natural form. We can organize the hot stone bath during your stay in Bhutan.
